FAQ
What do you treat?
My Boundless Health in focused on optimizing four domains of health: Metabolic, Cardiovascular, Brain and Emotional Health. By focusing on these four areas, we believe you can live better and longer. The goal is to prevent chronic disease before their start. If you already have a diagnosis of chronic diseases, we work to reverse or treat them with lifestyle changes with a goal to delay complications of the disease and to improve your quality of life.
Why do I have to pay a membership fee?
My Boundless Health works as a direct care practice. That means there is no insurance or middle man. My goal is to be your advocate and ally when it comes to your health. By paying directly for your care, my time is spent helping you get healthy and not tracking down insurance payments. That keeps my costs low.
Why doesn’t my insurance pay for this type of care? Why doesn’t my regular doctor offer this service?
Prevention and lifestyle medicine takes time. Insurance based practices focus on seeing more patients and spending less time with each patient. We all know about 15 minute visits and feeling rushed by our doctor. As a result, lifestyle changes do not get addressed and follow-up is limited. As a membership practice, I meet with you regularly to learn about who you are, what interventions would best benefit you and monitor your improvement over time to achieve your health goals.
Can you bill my insurance anyway?
In general insurance only pays for sick care. Most insurance plans won’t cover more than one preventative visit a year with a doctor. At My Boundless Health we are trying to prevent diseases like diabetes, heart disease, joint disease, and dementia. Medical insurance will only pay for care after you have a diagnosis and only rarely for lifestyle interventions.
If I already have a doctor, will you work with them to treat my disease?
Yes, we are happy to coordinate care with your doctor. In general, our focus is to educate you as the patient to take ownership of your health. That means learning how to talk about prevention and asking for what you need from your doctor, insurance, or other health care providers.
What if I want to stop my membership?
You can stop your membership at anytime. Just give us notice before your next billing date and we can pause your membership.

How long does it take to see improvements in my health?
Lifestyle changes take time and patience to implement and monitoring changes if essential to any successful plan. At your first visit we will talk about a timeline to achieve improved health. We encourage members to commit to a meaningful period of time to achieve their individual goals. Our goal is to help improve your health and prevent disease for the next 20, 30, or 40 years.
Do you provide urgent care visits?
My boundless health is a prevention, lifestyle medicine practice. We are happy to do virtual visits for urgent needs, but our focus is on prevention of chronic disease. If you need help during business hours, reach out and we will do our best. But we encourage all our patients to maintain access to a primary care provider and urgent care services in the community.
Does lifestyle medicine mean you do not prescribe medicines?
No, we prescribe medicines with scientific evidence to prevent chronic disease or achieve lasting improvements to your health. For example, this may include medicine to address underlying risk factors like high blood pressure or high blood sugars, or it to assist with behavior change, such as quitting smoking.

I want to stop my medicine and control my health “naturally.” Can you help?
With lifestyle changes, we can see dramatic improvement in health and it is often necessary to stop medicines to avoid dangerous side effects. We will monitor your improvement and help you taper off of any unnecessary medicines as you achieve health improvements.
How do I pay for lab tests?
My Boundless Health uses Labcorp for its lab services. Most lab tests are covered by insurance, but others will require payment out of pocket. We will do our best to inform you of any out of pocket costs in advance. Some patients may prefer to do lab monitoring with their primary care doctor to keep their results in one location, and we can give you the information to request testing from your primary care or specialist physicians.
